O for grace ...
We had the final sermon in a series on Joshua on Sunday night, from chapters 23 and 24. The closing point was taken from 23:11:
Be very careful, therefore, to love the Lord your God.
Great verse. We were then cautioned against the offering of cheap words. Our minister quoted someone (didn't catch the name) as saying "O for grace to Love him more", and so of course an old hymn started playing in my head. Only the line from the hymn is actually "O for grace to trust him more".
Since it's been rattling in my head, here is a blast from the past. It's even Amy Grant (I know!). But, on listening, I actually do still quite like this arrangement, dare I say so. It's rather folksy.
